Guitar Center Inc. has named David Angress to the newly created position of executive vice president, international development and proprietary brands. The firm has also named Jay Wanamaker executive vice president, general merchandise manager, replacing Angress.
Angress joined the firm in 1996 as vice president of merchandise for high technology products He was promoted to senior vice president in 1998 and assumed the role of executive vice president and general merchandise manager in March of 2000.
Wanamaker joined Guitar Center in 2000 and has directed various divisions of the firm, including the MI Division, Technology Division and Store Operations.
