McFarlane Toys has secured a licensing agreement to produce figures of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky for sale at major retailers worldwide.
Terms of the details were not disclosed.
The figures will feature Gretzky in several on-ice action poses in uniforms representing all of the National Hockey League teams he played for: the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers.
The agreement allows McFarlane Toys, which is an official NHL licensee, to produce action figures ranging in size from three-to-18 inches, and includes worldwide distribution. McFarlane’s Sports Picks Wayne Gretzky figures will debut as part of the hockey legends’ line scheduled for release in September.
Additionally, McFarlane Toys is supporting the Wayne Gretzky Foundation throughout the contract. The company will donate hockey equipment and ice time to the foundation, and give disadvantaged youth the opportunity to attend professional hockey games.
