GMR Marketing and Delfin Integrated Marketing—two agencies within Omnicom’s Radiate Group—have merged. The merger expands GMR’s global capabilities to include Delfin’s four offices in Spain located in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville.
Delfin has 57 employees and has extensive marketing, television production and content production capabilities. Omnicom purchased the agency in 2003. Under the merger deal, Delfin will be rebranded GMR Marketing.
“Spain is a gateway to both Southern Europe and the emerging markets in North Africa. Delfin is clearly best-in-class in Spain, so adding them to the GMR global team is a perfect strategic fit for us and our clients” GMR Marketing founder and CEO Gary Reynolds, said in a release. “With this key addition to the network, we will not only expand the resources and capabilities of GMR in Spain, but we will also be gaining a deeper understanding of the consumers through Delfin’s knowledge and expertise in this part of the world”
Oscar Coto, the CEO of Delfin in Spain, will remain with the firm as CEO of GMR Spain.
According to Delphin’s Web site, the agency has done work for Comunidad de Madrid, Telefonica, Nintendo-Shaymin, Ben & Jerry’s, PwC (PricewaterhouseCooper).
GMR is based in New Berlin, WI, and has 597 employees. The agency specializes in engagement marketing, and along with other offices throughout the U.S., also has locations in the United Kingdom, Canada and China. Delfin and GMR had participated in an employee-exchange program in recent years.
