Several companies were negotiating to purchase Morrow/Macke Inc. after the lettershop closed down earlier this week and laid off 115 people, according to the Newark, OH Advocate.
Some of the company’s customers over the years included Publishers Clearing House, Reader’s Digest, Time Inc. and many other large-scale mailers.
Company president Glenn Morrow declined to reveal the names of the interested companies.
Last Friday, 115 people were told without warning they were losing their jobs at the 125,000-sq. ft. plant after a falloff in business that began with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and subsequent anthrax scare.
