Equifax Inc. has purchased consumer credit files, and related customer accounts, from CBC Companies Inc. for $95 million in cash. The data files include customers in Florida, Indiana, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and West Virginia.
CBC is an independent credit reporting agency. It has a 14-year relationship with Atlanta-based Equifax as a system affiliate.
“We expect this acquisition to generate immediate profitable growth, and give us the opportunity to better serve our customers with high-quality credit reporting and analytical services supported by world-class technology,” Mark Miller, president and COO of Equifax said in a statement.
