we've got a lot to talk about
April 5, 2020

Who hasn’t pivoted to digital this week?

Marketers—and the business world as a whole—are adjusting to the new reality of working from home, remote team management, virtual engagement and a retooling of strategies to accommodate for a global crisis.

In the spirit of communal quarantine, this week we bring you tips and insights related to remote work. Here are six tips for engaging audiences with virtual experiences, from leveraging interactive content to hosting virtual happy hours to filling gaps in the calendar with creative activities.

Some data to consider while you're reworking your marketing strategies: The Interactive Advertising Bureau reports that, as expected, ad spend is down as marketers manage their expenses. Some categories, such as streaming services, are thriving. Moreover, consumer habits are shifting from week to week.

Social media traffic related to COVID-19 has spiked in recent weeks, eclipsing all other topics. And platforms like Instagram and Pinterest have rolled out new features to accommodate all the conversation. It’s an opportunity for marketers to use social listening to inform content strategies and gauge what resonates with a quarantined public.

For many marketers, working from home requires an adjustment. We look at strategies for staying connected to your teams, managing tasks remotely and tips for staying organized.

And while face-to-face engagement is on pause, it’s a good time for B2B event marketers to bone up on strategies and trends used by leading brands in the industry—so that when this crisis does pass, you’ll be ready to bring your A-game.

Until next week,
