DMA’s Lakshmi-Ratan Lands At Pitney Bowes

Pitney Bowes has tapped former Direct Marketing Association executive Ramesh Lakshmi-Ratan to serve as its president of its Document Messaging Technologies (DMT) unit. Lakshmi-Ratan succeeds Patrick Brand in that position. Brand has been named president of its U.S. mailing business.

Lakshmi-Ratan joins Pitney Bowes from the DMA, where he was executive vice president and chief operating officer. Before joining the DMA in 2005, he held senior leadership roles at VocalTec Communications, Yellow Pages, Packetup, AT&T Bell Laboratories, and Lucent Technologies.

Brand is a 26-year veteran employee of Pitney Bowes. Before his stint as president of DMT, he served as vice president of sales and vice president of marketing at DMT, and before that held a series of roles of increasing responsibility in other parts of Pitney Bowes.

Both Brand and Lakshmi-Ratan report to Leslie Abi-Karam, executive VP and president of mailstream solutions management.
