DMA UNVEILING NEW LOGO

Get ready to say goodbye to the boxy old red, white and blue DMA logo. The Direct Marketing Association is expected to unveil a new logo at the DMA05 conference in Atlanta this month.

The new logo is part of a major revamp that began in early summer of the DMA’s overall “brand and identity structure,” said Lou Mastria, vice president of public affairs and media for the New York-based DMA.

Asked to describe in one sentence the message the DMA’s new logo is supposed to convey, Mastria said: “It’s more proactive about the future and it’s going to be more focused on the growth and vibrancy of the direct marketing community.”

The DMA tapped public relations firm Burson-Marsteller, global branding and design agency Landor Associates, and marketing communications agency Wunderman to rebrand the organization.

Mastria declined to give any details about the new logo’s design. He also declined to say how much money the DMA has spent on the effort.
