Disney Store Backs Boys & Girls Clubs

The Disney Store will host a back-to-school promotion later this month to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs.

The July 23-24 event invites Disney Store customers to buy two Disney-character backpacks for $20 (regular price is $14.50 each) and the store will donate one to Boys & Girls Clubs for underprivileged kids who need school supplies. Shoppers also can buy two lunch bags for $15 (regularly $9.50 each) and have one donated to their local club.

Shoppers who make a donation get a DisneyHand “Show your character” bookmark and sticker as a thank you. The promo runs in Disney Stores’ 300 shops.

“We wanted to make a difference for kids on a real grass-roots level and provide school supplies that children really need,” said Disney Store President Mario Ciampi in a statement. “We thought it would be a great idea for our customers to become involved, so as to help their children learn about sharing with others who are less fortunate.”
