Denny’s is boosting interest in its late night menu with the introduction of new dishes created by some popular rock stars.
The artists include Katy Perry, Taking Back Sunday, Boys Like Girls and Hoobastank, whose members developed the menu items in Denny’s kitchens.
The new items, added to the Rock star menu, opened the door for Denny’s to transform its restaurants into late night entertainment venues. The dishes are served only after 10 p.m. along with alternative rock played throughout the restaurant and servers sporting T-shirts and jeans.
“Denny’s has been a late-night destination for musicians for over 50 years,” Mark Chmiel, chief marketing and innovation officer for Denny’s, said in a statement. “We’re continuing to own the night in keeping with our rock ‘n roll heritage.”
The new menu, presented by Dr Pepper, features: The Hot N Cold Cherry Chocolate Cappuccino, inspired by Katy Perry’s new hit single, “Hot n’ Cold;” Taking Back Sunday’s Melty Grilled Chicken and Sausage Quesadilla, by the New York rockers Taking Back Sunday; The Great Eggsteak, by Boys and The Hooburrito by Hoobastank.
Promotions, contests and band news available play up the promo. The site also offers future rock stars the chance to connect with their fan base and receive promotional support and free meals on the road through the Denny’s Adopt-A-Band program.
The new additions complement the Allnighter menu introduced earlier this year. That menu features shareable favorites such as Potachos—kettle chips topped with sausage, bacon and shredded cheese, and the Smokin’ Q Four Pack, tangy mini-burgers served with a double order of onion rings. The Allnighter Rock star menu is available between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly.
