Car and Driver Launches Contest to Deliver Readers

Car and Driver magazine is looking for readers. And to build some interest in its 2007 10Best Cars listing, the magazine is giving two readers the chance to drive away in one of the cars on the list.

In the Guess the 10Best Cars contest, entrants submit essays describing why they deserve to win the grand prize to CarandDriver.com. Two grand-prize winners who guess the Top 10 cars out of 47 listed will receive a one-year lease for one of the rides. Cars include the Acura TL, Audi RS4, BMW M Coupe and the Chrysler Sebring sedans. In addition, a second-place winner will receive a certificate to the Skip Barber One-Day Driving School. The contest ends Nov. 21. The list will appear in the magazine’s January 2007 issue.

As part of the magazine’s 25th year celebration, along with efforts to reinvent itself “to appeal to a broader audience while still appealing to…traditional readers,” the publication debuts Car and Driver Mobile next month. Through the free service, mobile phone users will be able to access automotive news, reviews, photo galleries and high performance car images on wallpaper via CarandDriver.com.

The publication has also landed a licensing agreement with Yahoo Autos for the Yahoo site to carry branded content from Car and Driver magazine and its Web site starting in December.

Online materials support the contest handled internally by Car and Driver.
