The Chicago Association of Direct Marketing has named Bart Zeller Jr. as the 2002 recipient of the Natalie P. Holmes Volunteer of the Year award.
Zeller is director of sales at Teleperformance USA, Des Plaines, IL and co-chair of the CADM’s Teleservices Network Special Interest Group.
The award is chosen by CADM’s current president in honor of the association’s former executive director, who retired in 1992 after 20 years’ service. “Bart Zeller Jr. is a prime mover in CADM’s successful efforts to build attendance at the association’s monthly meeting. These meetings historically provided significant educational and networking value but lost some steam in the heydays of teleconferences, Webinars and other technology-driven meetings,” said David McSweeney, president of CADM and vice president-business development, World Marketing Integrated Solutions, Burr Ridge, IL.
“We began branding the event ‘Second Wednesday,’ and assigning our special-interest groups to provide content that would drive a general audience,” McSweeney continued. “First as a member of the steering committee of the Teleservices Network (then called PhoneBiz), and as its current co-chair, Bart put all his energy and imagination into creating program ideas that attracted many current members, new members and non-members. As a result, Bart helped draw new–and newly active–members to both the association and the Teleservices Network.”
Zeller holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Governors State University, University Park, IL. He began his DM career in 1991 as a telephone sales representative with Market USA. Four years later, he opened a call center for the firm in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and entered the firm’s client services division upon his return to the U.S. In 1997, Zeller joined Marcom Technologies as a senior client services manager, and returned the next year to the newly renamed Teleperformance USA/Market USA to join the sales team.
The award will be presented during CADM’s 47th annual business and volunteer recognition luncheon on Aug. 14. For information, visit http://www.cadm.org.
