Brown Shoe Co. has named former Saks Fifth Avenue executive Sheri Wilson-Gray senior vice president and chief marketing officer, a newly created position. The post goes into effect June 4.
In her new role, Wilson-Gray will work on strategic brand development and handle direct marketing communications, consumer research, PR and licensing for Brown Shoe brands. Terri Rawson, senior vice president of wholesale marketing, and Scott Cooper, senior vice president of marketing for Famous Footwear, previously handled marketing initiatives for Brown Shoe. They remain at the company and will work with Wilson-Gray on the company’s marketing efforts.
She joins Brown Shoe from Island Global Yachting, where she has worked as executive vice president, marketing since 2005. In that role, Wilson-Gray handled all branding and marketing work for the company. Prior to that, she worked as executive vice president, chief marketing officer for Saks Fifth Avenue.
Brown Shoe Co. operates 1,000 Famous Footwear stores, 300 specialty retail outlets in the U.S. and Canada under the Naturalizer, FX LaSalle and Franco Sarto brands and an e-commerce site at Shoes.com. The company through its wholesale divisions owns and markets footwear brands including LifeStride, Via Spiga, Buster Brown and Connie.
