Lynn Brindell has been named executive vice president of strategic marketing for The Weather Channel.
Brindell had been senior vice president of marketing for TWC since 2006. In her new role, she will oversee all marketing creative, research, public relations, ad sales, affiliate marketing, consumer marketing and licensing.
TWC has not yet named anyone to succeed Brindell in her previous post.
Brindell has extended the company’s “green” platform, expanding programming staff covering environmental issues and increasing goodwill efforts related to the ecological movement. She spearheaded the effort to develop a relationship with the National Environmental Education Foundation, including a $2.5 million donation to the organization by TWC parent Landmark Communications.
Prior to joining The Weather Channel, Brindell was senior vice president of marketing and creative services for Food Network. Prior to that position, she was senior vice president of marketing for Lifetime Television.
