Bank of America began an National Football League sweepstakes promotion this week, offering a trip for two to Super Bowl XLII as grand prize.
Its six-week Monday Morning Quarter Back sweeps also offers participating customers a chance to get a refund on one-fourth of their check card spending over the previous weekend, up to $2,500. Two customers will be randomly selected to receive the refund each week. One second-prize winner will receive a pair of tickets to next season’s home opener for his or her favorite NFL team.
All contestants are eligible for the grand prize trip to the next Super Bowl. Customers must register online at www.bankofamerica.com/quarterback to enter the sweeptakes. The deadline is Dec. 21.
The promotion is intended to plug Bank of America’s ongoing Keep the Change program, which rounds each check card purchase to the next whole dollar amount. Those who enroll in the program receive the difference in the form of a transfer from their checkings to their savings accounts.
“Through the Monday Morning Quarter Back promotion we hope to highlight the importance of saving,” said Susan Faulkner, Bank of America deposits and student lending executive.
The promotion also plays on Bank of America’s sponsorship role as official bank of the NFL. The bank currently offers its customers affinity checks and credit cards carrying the logos of the Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots and Washington Redskins.
Bank of America has lined up former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly as spokesman for the Monday Morning Quarter Back program.
