Arnold Worldwide has named Scott Caristo senior vice president and group director in the business leadership group.
He will oversee the agency’s roster of GlaxoSmithKline U.S. smoking control brands—NicoDerm CQ, Nicorette and Commit.
Caristo will report into Barry Silverstein, executive vice president and managing partner who oversees Arnold's domestic and international GSK business.
“GSK's Smoking control business is one of our most important here in New York, and has been since we helped them launch over-the-counter in 1996 and took on their global advertising responsibility in 2004,” Silverstein said.
Scott joins Arnold with more than 15 years of agency experience at Ogilvy & Mather, McCann, BBDO and JWT. During this time, he launched and grew a variety of blue-chip packaged goods and healthcare brands for Johnson & Johnson, L'Oreal, Gillette and Pfizer.
Most recently, he was a senior partner at Ogilvy, where he launched Januvia, Merck's new diabetes medication. Prior to Ogilvy, Scott worked at McCann leading J&J's women's health franchise and L'Oreal's skincare portfolio, and at BBDO, where he ran the Lubriderm, Duracell and Gillette grooming accounts.
Arnold New York's other clients include GSK's alli, Hershey's, Lee Jeans, Timex and McDonald's.
