Arcandor AG has decided not to sell its mail order division’s logistics and call centers as part of a restructuring program, but may do so at a later date, according to wire service reports.
The company, parent of the Quelle catalog, employs about 4,700 people at logistical sites in Leipzig and Nuremberg, Germany as well as in call centers in Berlin, Madgeburg and Cottbus. Arcandor has already closed six call centers and will shut down logistics services unit ServiceLogiQ in Nuremberg by the end of 2009.
