Aeropostale Inc. reported total net sales of $117.1 million for the five weeks ended Jan. 4, up 29.2% from $90.6 million last year.
The cataloger and retailer, which markets to young men and women aged 11 to 20, also reported a December comparable store sales increase of 0.3% versus the year-ago comparable store sales increase of 29.3%.
“We are pleased with our holiday sales performance particularly given the challenging retail environment and difficult comparisons from a year ago, ” CEO Julian R. Geiger said in a statement.
Fiscal year to date, total sales increased 36.2% to $526.9 million, compared to $386.9 million one year ago. Comparable store sales increased 6.7%.
