The Fingerhut catalog file is back on the market. Adrea Rubin Management Inc. has been chosen as the list manager.
The master file will be available for rental July 18. Counts and pricing were not available by press time.
The master file is a combination of customer names from the old database as well as newly activated customers, Bob Kieffer, senior vice president and general counsel at Fingerhut, said in a previous interview.
The typical Fingerhut customer is from a lower-middle-class household, according to a statement from Adrea Rubin, New York.
The catalog will offer these customers easy-payment, interest-bearing credit terms just as it had before Federated shuttered the company. The new book features a merchandise mix similar to the old mix, as well, offering housewares, consumer electronics and jewelry.
The cataloger re-launched a package insert program last month managed by Singer Direct Inc., Scarsdale, NY. One million packages are to go out a year.
Fingerhut Direct Marketing Inc., Minnetonka, MN, is a new company formed by Ted Deikel, a former CEO of the catalog, and his partner Tom Petters. They acquired the name and assets from Federated Department Stores last year.
