The Academy of Country Music has created a new in-house marketing, publicity and creative team.
Leading the group are Lisa Lee, the senior director of creative development, and Brooke Primero, senior director of publicity and marketing.
The group is in charge of managing advertising, publicity, promotions and creative around its main property, the Academy of Country Music Awards. As part of their role, the team will focus on media and entertainment industry exposure targeting the academy and country and develop strategic marketing initiatives and promotional tools.
Both Lee and Primero report to Bob Romeo, the academy’s executive director.
Lee recently worked at MTV Network’s CMT where she wrote and produced a number of CMT news specials. She also worked as a west coast new editor and Los Angeles correspondent for CMT News.
Primero left her post as senior director at Bragman Nyman Cafarelli, an entertainment PR and marketing firm, to join the academy. During her six years there, she led the company’s special events team. Clients included T-Mobile, General Motors, Screen Actors Guild, Guess and Red Bull.
Prior to that, Primero handled talent relations and contributed to media and promotional events, including film premieres, Oscar parties and Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremonies.
