Carl’s Jr. Debuts Microsite, TV Spots for New Sandwich

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s are spicing up some new TV spots to promote the chain’s new spicy Buffalo Chicken Sandwich.

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s are spicing up some new TV spots to promote the chain’s new spicy Buffalo Chicken Sandwich.

In addition, a new micro-site, SpicyBuffalo.com, is hosted by the commercial’s star, model and actress Ashley Hartman. She gives tours of the site and visitors can request her assistance in sending e-mails to invite friends to lunch at the local Carl‘s Jr. or Hardee‘s.

The new 30-second TV spot is called Girlfriend, and shows a young guy eating wings at the local sports bar. A sexy blonde catches his attention as she cleans a table nearby. The ad ends when the guy’s girlfriend isn’t too happy with all the attention he is paying to the blonde. A voiceover says: “Guys love going out for wings, that is, when they’re with the guys.” Mendelsohn/Zien Advertising, Los Angeles, created the spots.

The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich is a crispy chicken breast fillet dipped in Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Wing Sauce, topped with ranch dressing, sliced red onions, tomatoes and lettuce on a seeded bun. The sandwich sells for under $4.
