Yahoo Gives Away Scoops of Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream

Yahoo celebrated its 10th birthday yesterday with an interactive promotion, giving away a free scoop of Baskin-Robbins ice cream to visitors to its Web site.

The promotion was open to all visitors, however non-members had to register to become a Yahoo member before being able to print out a customized coupon for the free scoop of ice cream. The promotion also prompted visitors to join the Baskin-Robbins birthday club, where kids get a coupon for a free scoop of ice cream mailed to them 15 days before their birthday and older people can get coupons and other offers.

In addition to the coupon, ice cream lovers could find directions to the closest Baskin-Robbins that could be uploaded to wireless devices.

The one-day promotion, held yesterday, allowed for up to 300 scoops of ice cream per location.
