Correos, the national postal service of Spain, has begun using Reva Systems’ TAP systems to enable radio frequency identification (RFID) operations at 37 mail processing centers.
Correos is using RFID to track mail tagged with UHF RFID labels in order to monitor and manage mail delivery service nationwide, according to Reva.
At each processing depot, dock doors equipped with RFID portals capture data as letters and parcels move in and out of the facility. TAP systems installed at each site control the portal readers and process the RFID tag data for location accuracy, and then deliver the relevant tag data to Correos enterprise backend systems, according to Reva.
