Shop.org, the National Retail Foundation’s online arm, has hired Joan Broughton to serve as vice president of content and education.

Shop.org, the National Retail Foundation’s online arm, has hired Joan Broughton to serve as vice president of content and education. Broughton will oversee communication and merchandising to the online retailer network’s members, as well as taking control of its research and publications.
Broughton joined Shop.org from REI, where she was vice president of multi-channel programs. At REI she was responsible for Web site operations and REI Adventures. She also coordinated the outdoors equipment firm’s “order online, pickup at a store” program
