He replaces Caroline Bock, who left to write a novel.
Shapiro will lead the New York-based network's marketing division and staff and be responsible for overseeing all marketing and brand building efforts. The film business, includes a television network, a film distribution and production unit, and a VOD service.
Most recently, Shapiro worked for Court TV, as senior VP-marketing. Court TV took three top awards in the 2003 PRO Awards. Before joining Court TV in 2001, Shapiro was CEO and creative director of Forefront, a marketing and promotions company he co-founded in 1996.
