Drug store retail chain Rite Aid Corp., Camp Hill, PA, and vitamin direct marketer General Nutrition Corp. have bought a 25% stake in pharmaceutical Web site drugstore.com for $7.6 million and $2.4 million, respectively.Under the terms of the agreement, drugstore.com will have the exclusive online rights to sell all GNC brand products as well as the new RiteAid/GNC PharmAssure and trade brand of vitamins

Drug store retail chain Rite Aid Corp., Camp Hill, PA, and vitamin direct marketer General Nutrition Corp. have bought a 25% stake in pharmaceutical Web site drugstore.com for $7.6 million and $2.4 million, respectively.
Under the terms of the agreement, drugstore.com will have the exclusive online rights to sell all GNC brand products as well as the new RiteAid/GNC PharmAssure and trade brand of vitamins and nutritional supplements, which will be introduced this fall. In addition, drugstore.com will create a separate "GNC Live Well" boutique featuring GNC and PharmAssure products as well as educational information on health and wellness.
