Shop At Home, Inc., had third-quarter revenue of $53.6 million, up 44% from the same time in 1999, when its revenue was $37.1 million. For the quarter the company reported a net loss of $3.5 million, compared with $1.7 million a year ago. The quarter ended March 31.
According to the company, its online businesses showed strength during the quarter, with http://www.collectibles.com having net revenue of $1.5 million. The average amount per order from the site was $254.
The net loss was partly attributed to the startup costs of collectibles.com. The site, which was launched Nov. 12, had a pretax loss of $2.9 million during the third quarter. Additionally, the company's loss on its Broadcast Network rose from just under to just above $2.4 million, while its loss on Collector's Edge rose from $299,000 to $342,000.
