Rosalind Resnick, CEO of NetCreations, will retire from the e-mail company she founded at the end of the year.
Michael Mayor, NetCreations' president and COO, will continue to manage the company's day-to-day operations. Resnick will advise the New York company as a consultant.
Resnick is an Internet pioneer, who started NetCreations in 1995 with programmer Ryan Scott Druckenmiller. She insisted on a double opt-in process that required list members to confirm their subscriptions to NetCreations' PostMasterDirect service.
NetCreations is now part of Italian corporation, SEAT Pagine Gialle.
Resnick said she is leaving to pursue other business opportunities and to spend more time with her family. She has no plans to re-enter the e-mail marketing business or to join another Internet marketing company, according to a statement.
