PostX, a provider of secure integrated electronic messaging services, has been granted a patent for its invention, a system for conveying online transaction confirmations through secure email.

PostX, based in Cupertino, CA, has invented a system and method for confirming online business transactions in a secure and convenient manner to end user’s e-mail boxes.

This involves sending an encrypted document confirming the transaction to the customer. The customer uses his or her personal password to decrypt the secure electronic envelope and view the confirmation. After the customer has opened the envelope, a return receipt is transmitted back to the system to notify the sending organization that the electronic envelope was received and opened.
