Online travel sites recorded 22 million visits, up 42% from January 2000, according to Nielsen//NetRatings an Internet audience measurement service, and online market research firm Harris Interactive.
In January 2001, Travelocity accounted for 18% of the total online buyers, the largest percentage among any site. Southwest was second, at 14%, followed by Expedia, at 11%; Priceline, at 9% and Delta, at 8%.
