Nielsen//NetRatings and Spectra Inc. have formed a partnership to produce specialized consumer profile reports to help brand managers use the Internet to reach target audiences.
Under the agreement, Nielsen//NetRatings will supply Internet usage and demographic information to Spectra, which will analyze each site's audience according to the 54 household classifications in the Spectra Grid. The grid classifies households according to six demographic measures.
To keep up with swings in usage, Nielsen//NetRatings and Spectra plan to issue monthly reports to customers, providing updated grid profiles covering more than 400 sites.
Spectra, based in Chicago, is a division of VNU.
