shareholders overwhelmingly approved the acquisition of the company by global ad giant WPP Group PLC. More than 99% of Cordiant shareholders approved WPP's purchase of the debt-laden company for around 10 million pounds ($16 million.) WPP has also taken on Cordiant's 256 million pound ($409 million) debt.
