The Pink Panther turns 40 this month, and Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios is launching a yearlong celebration.
On April 6, MGM Home Entertainment drops a boxed set of Pink Panther films at retail, which will include digitally re-mastered versions of the five movies and a bonus disc of special features including six original animated short films and commentary by Blake Edwards.
Beginning April 11, MGM Networks will feature a promotion for the anniversary. Over 100 countries will receive a programming marathon of Pink Panther material, and many will take part in different types of promotions and contests.
A new set of pink products are also making their debut this month ranging from designer shirts from Thomas Pink; women's fashions by JEM Sportswear; martini sets and golf accessories; specially painted Nirve beach cruiser bikes and Vespa scooters.
In Las Vegas, the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino will feature a Pink Panther store-within-a-store at the Grand and Co. store in the hotel's main lobby. The MGM Grand will also feature Pink Panther on the Jumbotron and on special room key cards.
