Mail-Well Inc. reported third quarter sales of $415 million, flat with revenue of $445 million one year ago. Over the last nine months, the firm had a loss of $2.7 million on $1.2 billion in sales versus income of $5.2 million on sales of $1.4 billion.
Charges of $9.8 million were recorded during the quarter in connection with Mail-Well’s consolidation of some envelope plants, bringing the total consolidation costs to $33.6 million for the first nine months. The quarter and nine months ended Sept. 30.
In August, the company closed its printing plant in New York, right sized some under performing printing plants and began the consolidation of its Web operations.
