Madison Dearborn to Acquire Yankee Candle for $1.7 Billion

Madison Dearborn Partners LLC will acquire the Yankee Candle Co. Inc. for $1.7 billion in cash and stock.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter.

In the merger, Yankee shareholders will receive $34.75 in cash for each share of Yankee common stock they hold.
