Locale Media has introduced Zip code targeting for online advertising in metropolitan New York and the San Francisco Bay area.
The Stamford, CT-based firm sells advertising space on Web sites. It’s following a model for advertising on the Internet that’s similar how Cable TV advertising is segmented by specific geographic region.
Locale Media sells advertising placed on the Web sites of magazines, TV networks, newspapers and brand name consumer products marketers.
“Locale Media can help advertisers reach high net worth Zip codes where the most profitable customers are,” said in a statement Bhu Srinivasan, CEO of Locale Media.
The firm specializes in advertising in such product categories as architecture, furniture, luxury cars and jewelry, among others.
Its East Coast efforts are focused on ZIP codes in neighborhoods where the median home price exceeds $1 million. Its target markets include areas of Manhattan, Westchester County and Long Island, NY; Fairfield County, CT and parts of northern New Jersey.
On the West Coast, Locale Media is concentrating on San Francisco and its suburbs, including Marin County, Silicon Valley and wealthy communities in the East and South bay regions, where the median home price is $1 million or higher.
