[CATALOG AGE] A destination delivery unit (DDU) drop-shipping work group plans to set up a parcel service measurement system, to track the time it takes from the receipt of a package to delivery by the USPS.
"Mailers need to ensure that packages match their transmission scans," said Tom Davis, a director with apparel cataloger Newport News, at MTAC. He was referring to mailers' abilities to compare their barcode scans of packages to those of the Postal Service's through its Confirm program.
"We have a lot of major mailers involved in this," he said, "and it would put us in a position to measure results of these reports and assess what can be changed or improved in the postal system."
