Nonprofit privacy-seal organization Truste will provide certification for IronPort System’s e-mail Bonded Sender program.
Bonded Sender requires companies sending e-mail to undergo a certification process and guarantee the legitimacy of their e-mail by offering their own money as their bond. The program is designed to address the false-positive problem by ensuring that legitimate commercial e-mail does not get caught in spam filters.
Truste will provide privacy oversight, advice on Internet standards and dispute resolution for the program. IronPort will track e-mail senders to improve individuals’ and organizations’ ability to identify trusted sources of e-mail.
Bonded Sender is being tested by e-mail companies and Internet service providers.
IronPort, a company that develops Internet messaging systems, announced the alliance with Truste at the Federal Trade Commission’s Spam Forum.
