Arlene Rubin, co-founder with her husband Bill of Rubin Response Services Inc., died this morning of cancer at age 68.
She became president of the list management/brokerage company in 2002 upon Bill Rubin’s death, and served in that capacity until January of this year. Prior to that, she had been executive vice president.
Her daughter, Judith Rubin-Zivic, assumed the presidency of the Schaumburg, IL-based company in January.
The Rubins co-founded the firm in 1974. Bill had been a direct marketing professional, working at companies like Lee Ward’s and National Bellas Hess. Arlene had been a grade school teacher.
In addition to Judith, Mrs. Rubin is survived by two other daughters who work at Rubin Response: Linda Rubin, director of advertising, and Lori Rubin-Dekalo, a list broker; as well as two grandchildren, David and Shelley Dekalo.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Weinstein Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Highway, Wilmette, IL.
