Lipton Wins Directo Council's Professional of the Year Award

Shelly Lipton will be the recipient of the Excellence in Hispanic Marketing Professional of the Year award.

The honor, presented by the Direct Marketing Association's Directo Council for Hispanic Marketing, goes to an individual who has made significant contributions to the culture, community and identity of Hispanics in the U.S. with breakthrough creativity or professional achievement.

The award will be presented at the Directo Council's annual Hispanic Marketing Days conference, which will be held March 7-8 in Miami.

Lipton is president and COO of Bienestar LCG Communications. A 23-year veteran of the direct marketing industry, he founded LCG Latino in 1989 to develop programs aimed at the U.S. Hispanic market. Under his leadership, the company developed and launched Club Música Latina for Columbia House and the first Hispanic relationship marketing program for Pfizer.

Other Lipton programs include a Latin-American business-to-business direct marketing program for BellSouth and a Hispanic fundraising program for the American Red Cross.
