Hasbro Sweepstakes Turns Monopoly Money to Gold

Hasbro celebrates Monopoly's 70th anniversary with a sweepstakes that takes its prizes straight from the game board.

Monopoly money now comes in green

The Instant Tycoon game will award a grand-prize $15,140 -- the amount of money in a Monopoly game. Other tycoon-worthy prizes include a state-of-the-art TV, a weekend stay at a luxury hotel (that may or may not be built on Park Place) diamond earrings and limousine service for a day.

Coded game pieces are packed in boxes of the Monopoly 70th Anniversary Edition game. Players log onto www.monopoly70th.com to enter their code; monthly drawings choose winners. The sweeps runs May 23 through February 2006 via Arnold Brand Promotions, Boston.
