Fans Use Text Messaging For Coke Marathon Updates

Mobile marketer WiggleWireless will keep spectators at this Sunday's Coca-Cola Rock 'n' Roll Marathon informed about the progress of race participants and race coverage updates through text messaging.

Mobile phone users sign up for WiggleWireless at wigglewireless.com and select broadcast channels to receive pre-event information, race-day coverage and individual athlete tracking. Text messages will include weather forecasts, course conditions, logistical information and athlete progress, as well as near real-time tracking of individual runners participating in the San Diego event.

During the Coca-Cola Zero Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, WiggleWireless will send the requested updates directly to the designated mobile phone users. The service is free and each message is tagged with one of the race's several sponsor's names and is paid for by that sponsor.
