Eddie Bauer Catalog Unit to Shutter: Reports

The Eddie Bauer division of Spiegel Inc. will close its Eddie Bauer direct home business, which includes the catalog and Internet offerings later this year as part of its restructuring as it emerges from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to wire service reports. The company will also close its Home stores later this year.

The firm will continue to operate its apparel specialty stores and plans to license its name to home furnishings vendors.
