Draftfcb Chicago has hired Steve Conner to serve as senior VP and group creative director. Conner will co-lead efforts for the Kraft account, while further developing Draftfcb’s capabilities in delivering fully integrated business solutions for the agency’s wider client base. He will report to Rob Sherlock, chief creative officer of Draftfcb Chicago.
Conner began his career as a freelance creative in New York. During his career he launched several businesses, including C&C films (later re-branded as Storm Films) and an ad agency named Steve.
In 1999, he produced a three-minute film called True, which included the catchphrase “Wassup.” Connor later licensed the phrase to Anhauser Busch.
Conner later succeeded Tom Burrell as CCO and managing partner of Burrell Communications. Most recently Steve has been a consultant.
