For the eight months ended Oct. 2, the Hampstead, MD-based men’s clothier generated $215.8 million, compared with $171.7 million during the same period in 2003. Comparable store sales were up 10.1%, while catalog and Internet revenue rose 18.2%.
Store sales growth did outstrip direct sales for the 35 weeks ended Oct. 2, with store sales up 6.7%, ending at $9.31 billion, up from $8.73 billion, and direct revenue increasing 3.1%, from $1.58 billion to $1.63 billion.
