Capital One Financial Corp. will lay off 290 employees from its Internet-based automotive loan unit in San Diego as it consolidates its lending operations in Plano, TX by early 2006.
The McLean, VA based-company said it would create 200 new positions in Plano for which the discharged San Diego employees would be eligible to receive "relocation allowances."
