Blockbuster Picks Acxiom for CRM Suite

Blockbuster Inc. has purchased a new customer relationship management system created by Acxiom Corp. The new platform will allow the Dallas-based entertainment firm to achieve richer interactions with its customers through improved use of customer information. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

The new system consists of a customer marketing database that consolidates data from multiple sources and resides on an IBM server at Acxiom’s data center facilities. Acxiom will provide customer data and enhance Blockbuster’s ability to create, track and analyze direct marketing programs.

“Blockbuster has more than 52 million member accounts in the U.S. and Canada, and Acxiom’s CRM solution allows us to continue improving and refining those relationships,” said Stephen Colanero, vice president of strategic marketing for Blockbuster in a statement.
