Blair Corp., Warren, PA, will discontinue its 200 Hickory catalog. The catalog was launched as an independent title in the Spring of this year. Its offerings and operations will be merged into the company’s Blair Womenswear catalog by April 2002.
The catalog was an extension of the 220 Hickory product line, which was started in 1993 to target younger and more upscale female customers than Blair’s traditional base. The catalog featured 220 Hickory branded products, as well as items from the Blair and Blair Boutique product lines.
The catalog’s launch contributed to increased mailings during the second quarter. During the quarter the company sent out 55.9 million books, compared with 40.6 million a year earlier. At deadline, company officials did not comment on how the merged catalogs would affect overall circulation levels.
