Young & Rubicam Brands has named Gary Bassell chairman and CEO of the firm’s Bravo Group effective Dec. 1.
He replaces Daisy Exposito, who is stepping down after 23 years with the integrated marketing firm, which targets the U.S. Hispanic and multicultural markets.
Bassell joins the agency from La Comunidad, where he was most recently president. Prior to La Comunidad, Bassell spent nine years at Bates Worldwide in New York and Miami, where he led Bates’ Latin America regional headquarters team and U.S. Hispanic market agency. He began his career in publishing as the associate publisher of Euromoney PLC / Latin Finance, an international trade magazine focusing on business opportunities in Latin America.
In a related development, Bravo’s president, Linda DeJesus-Cutler, has added chief operating officer to her title.
