Audible Inc. and Bookspan have teamed up to launch a cobranded, digital spoken audio download service.
Spoken audio boutiques have been established at six of Bookspan's Web sites: Doubleday Book Club, Literary Guild, Quality Paperback Book Club, Book-Of-The-Month Club, History Book Club, and Zooba.com. About 70,000 hours of audiobooks, periodicals, and programming will be available to club members, who will be able to sample portions of books prior to purchase.
Bookspan has over 8.5 million members.
